As part of the methodological week, the Metal forming department hosted an exciting lesson on OP 6B07501 «Standardization, Metrology and Certification», dedicated to end length measures — standards without which it is impossible to imagine accurate mechanics and metrology.
These small steel bars have incredible precision and are used to calibrate measuring instruments, set up machine tools and check dimensions with micron precision.
The students got acquainted with the history of the appearance of end measures of length, learned how to combine them correctly («typing» the right size), and also tried themselves as metrologists, performing practical measurements.
