KARIU HELPS CHOOSE THE PATH: STUDENTS EXPLORE THE WORLD OF PROFESSIONS

The summer school of future professions for students of Temirtau schools from grades 1 to 10 has started its work at Karaganda Industrial University. The project is being implemented as part of a career guidance program and is aimed at developing students' conscious approach to choosing a future profession, as well as at generating interest in technical, engineering and humanitarian areas of education.

All graduate departments of the university have been involved in the summer school, which has prepared a variety of educational and interactive events. Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills through participation in games, workshops, and trainings that promote the development of soft skills, which are especially important in a rapidly changing world. Among other things, the summer school program includes:

 The team game "Critical Thinking and problem solving", during which participants learn to analyze situations, develop non-standard solutions and work as a team.; Practicum is a game called "Professions of the Future", where students explore their personal values, interests and abilities, comparing them with the requirements of modern and promising professions; 

Master class "How to build a career trajectory", where students will learn how to set goals correctly, plan professional development and adapt to changes in the labor market; 

Mini-training "Myth and Reality", aimed at debunking popular misconceptions about professions and career opportunities;

The reflection of the day, in which participants share their impressions, discuss what they particularly liked, and highlight their professions. A survey is also conducted to analyze the involvement and interests of schoolchildren. Children especially like interactive lesson formats, a friendly atmosphere, the opportunity to express themselves in teamwork and ask questions to teachers in an informal setting. Many people are interested in participating in games and workshops, sharing their dreams for the future and learning a lot about professions that they had never even heard of before.

The end of the summer school will be the ceremonial part: the presentation of certificates of participation, a photo shoot, an exchange of contacts, as well as a friendly buffet that promotes informal communication between participants and teachers.

The summer school at Karaganda Industrial University is not only an exciting and informative pastime, but also an important step towards a conscious professional choice of future applicants.
