On September 2–3, 2025, Karaganda Industrial University (Temirtau, Karaganda Region) hosted a delegation of leading scientists from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland — one of the most prestigious technical universities in Europe.
The visit was organized as part of the university's efforts to strengthen international cooperation. It aimed to develop scientific ties, facilitate experience exchange, and discuss prospects for joint projects in engineering, materials science, metallurgy, and information technologies.
The delegation included internationally recognized experts in their respective fields:
- Professor Agnieszka Kopia — expert in surface engineering, coatings, and nanomaterials
- Professor Lukasz Rauch — specialist in applied informatics and digitalization of industrial processes
- Professor Krzysztof Muszka — researcher in thermomechanical processing of metals and microstructure analysis
- Professor Monika Pernach — specialist in industrial process optimization and IT integration in materials science
- Professor Piotr Migas — expert in extractive metallurgy, waste processing, and green steel technologies
The visit was coordinated by Professor Jacek Cieslik, AGH representative for cooperation with universities in Central Asia.
Key goals of the visit included:
- Discussion of joint scientific research and international projects in engineering, metallurgy, IT, and waste management
- Lectures and seminars for KarIU students and faculty
- Exchange of experience in advanced technologies and educational programs
- Development of academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions
- Launch of dual-degree programs in IT and materials science
- Planning for joint participation in the Erasmus+ program
- Consultations with KarIU master's and doctoral students
A New Stage of International Partnership
The AGH delegation’s visit marked an important step in expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and Poland in science, education, and high technologies.
