On September 22, 2025, Karaganda Industrial University hosted a meeting with Dr. Kaloyan Hristov, PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Heat Engineering and Nuclear Power Engineering of the Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria). He visited within the framework of the Republican Program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan aimed at attracting foreign experts and scholars from leading universities.
Kaloyan Hristov is a recognized specialist in the field of heat and nuclear power engineering. He delivers lectures for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and has a Hirsch index of 3 in the Scopus database. His research interests cover issues of energy efficiency, energy auditing, modern research methodologies, as well as mathematical and simulation modeling of energy facilities, including the preparation and publication of articles in high-ranking international journals.
During his visit, Professor Hristov will conduct:
* lectures and practical classes for undergraduate, graduate, doctoral students, and academic staff on energy efficiency and energy auditing;
* consultations for master’s and doctoral theses;
* a training seminar on modern research methodologies;
* a workshop on publication activity in journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science;
* consultations for researchers and administrative staff on participation in international grant projects.
The meeting resulted in agreements on the development of scientific cooperation and long-term partnership between Karaganda Industrial University and the Technical University of Sofia. In particular, the parties plan:
* joint preparation and publication of scientific articles;
* participation in international research and educational projects;
* conducting joint research on topical issues of heat and nuclear energy;
* collaboration in the development and improvement of educational programs at Karaganda Industrial University.
Thus, the visit of Professor Kaloyan Hristov contributes to strengthening the university’s international ties, enhancing its scientific and educational potential, and opening new prospects for the integration of Karaganda Industrial University into the global educational and scientific community.
