On October 1, Karaganda Industrial University hosted a solemn event dedicated to the professional holiday — the Day of Higher Education Workers. This day became an occasion to express gratitude to the university's teachers, staff and veterans for their invaluable contribution to the development of science, education and the upbringing of the younger generation of specialists.
Higher education is not just about lectures, tests, and diplomas. This is the foundation on which the intellectual and professional potential of the nation is built. It is in universities and academies that scientific ideas are born, innovations are developed and the foundations for future transformations in the country are laid.
In a festive atmosphere, the university's management, representatives of the akimat and Maslikhat of Temirtau, students and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of the university and its staff. During the event, words of gratitude were expressed for high professionalism, dedication to the profession and constant striving to improve the educational process.
Special attention was paid to the role of Karaganda Industrial University as one of the leading technical universities in the region, which trains qualified personnel for industrial and scientific enterprises of the city and the region. It was noted that thanks to the efforts of teachers and researchers, the university makes a significant contribution to the development of innovation and sustainable economic development of the entire region.
— Today in Temirtau, a unique industrial city with a powerfully developed mining and metallurgical industry, an integrated education system has been formed - from preschool and primary, through secondary, technical and vocational, to postgraduate higher education with master's and doctoral degrees, dissertation councils operate, and most recently a regional branch of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened — for the first time in the history of the city," said the rector of KarIU Bakhyt Zhautikov in his welcoming speech. — We understand that high-quality education is impossible without relying on technology. Therefore, one of our key achievements is the creation of the first Department of artificial intelligence technologies in Kazakhstan. Students participate in the AI SANA program, take courses through HUAWEI Academy, Coursera platform, and teachers upgrade their skills through the programs of Astana Hub and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Partnerships with the region's manufacturing enterprises are actively developing: Qarmet, QazTehna, and other industrial giants. Our students practice in real production facilities, and graduates successfully get a job in their specialty.
The university, which is called Temirtau Tech — TTTU, has become a growth point in both education and economics. The university trains not just graduates, but people who will advance metallurgy, mechanical engineering, construction, IT, and energy industries. Along with this, the university is actively developing educational areas and improving the material and technical base. As part of the renewal of academic programs, new educational trajectories have been opened, such as: "Food Technology", "Oil and gas Production Technology", "Technological Welding Engineering", "Eco-analytics and Recycling technologies in MMK". The University demonstrates a stable and high level of student recruitment.
