KARIU STUDENTS VISITED «QARMET»
On October 8, students of Karaganda Industrial University took an educational tour of one of the largest city-forming enterprises in the region — «Qarmet». The event was held within the framework of the environmental initiative «Taza Kazakhstan» with the support of the Department of Ecology of the Karaganda region.
During the visit, future engineers and specialists of the metallurgical industry were able to go through the entire steel production process — from ore to finished sheet. The young people got acquainted with the main technological processes: they visited a blast furnace shop, a hot-dip galvanizing and aluminizing workshop, as well as a sheet-rolling plant.
The tour allowed the students to see with their own eyes how the most complex production chain that provides the country’s industry works. During the event, special attention was paid to the issues of environmental friendliness of processes and modernization of equipment aimed at reducing harmful emissions.
Sabit Uzakbayev, the State Environmental Inspector for Temirtau, noted the importance of such events: “It is very important that young people not only study theory in educational institutions, but also see how real industrial production works and understand the role ecology plays in modern industry. Such trips form a responsible attitude towards the future profession and the environment.”
After the tour, a round table was held where the students discussed their impressions. In a dialogue with experts and representatives of environmental services, the participants expressed their interest in the sustainable development of industry and the formation of an ecological culture. The discussion resulted in conclusions about the need to introduce new technologies, comply with environmental regulations and encourage the active involvement of young professionals in environmental protection.
Such initiatives are becoming an integral part of youth environmental education, contributing to the formation of a new generation of professionals who are competent, responsible and focused on a sustainable future.
