WELCOME TO THE STUDENTS!
One of the most exciting and solemn traditions took place at Karaganda Industrial University — Initiation into students. This annual event was a bright start to academic life for the first-year students who crossed the threshold of the university for the first time, joining the ranks of the КarIU student community.
The event took place on October 16 in the university’s auditorium and brought together not only students, but also teachers, university management, and distinguished guests. The Rector of the University and the deans of the faculties made welcoming remarks.
— Today you are becoming part of a large family of Karaganda Industrial University. Interesting discoveries, professional growth and personal development await you. Don’t miss these years — they will become the foundation of your future,” said KarIU Rector Bakhyt Zhautikov in his speech.
Special attention was paid to the awarding of educational grants during the celebration. According to the results of the summer examination session of the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as based on the results of the competitive selection, more than ten students became grant holders.
This important moment was a vivid confirmation of the academic performance, dedication and high level of training of students. For many of them, receiving a grant is not only a significant achievement, but also a powerful motivation for further professional growth.
Such initiatives are the result of active social support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Karaganda Industrial University, which consistently implement a policy of encouraging talented and knowledge—seeking students. Every student has a real opportunity to receive a grant — all that is required is the pursuit of knowledge, diligence and perseverance. During the ceremony, letters of thanks were also presented to students who actively participated in career guidance among schoolchildren from the southern and western regions of Kazakhstan. Their contribution helped future applicants to better understand the possibilities of higher education, choose a profession consciously and think about building a successful career already at the stage of schooling. These students have become real ambassadors of the university, demonstrating by their example the importance of engagement, social responsibility and mentoring.
The official part was accompanied by a vibrant concert program. The university’s creative teams — vocal and choreographic — gave the audience a festive mood and demonstrated the rich cultural life of the university. The traditional moment of the ceremony was the performance of the national anthem of Karaganda Industrial University. The uniqueness of this composition lies in the fact that it was created in collaboration between students and artificial intelligence — this creative project has become a symbol of digital thinking and the innovative approach that is developing at the university. The event ended with a vibrant Disco Party, which became the real highlight of the day. The students were happy to take part in fun contests, quizzes and dance battles, where everyone was able to prove themselves, compete for prizes and gifts, and just have a great time in an atmosphere of friendship and positivity.
Karaganda Industrial University is one of the leading technical universities in Kazakhstan, which trains specialists for key sectors of the economy. Since the first year, students have been involved in project activities, internships at enterprises, and participate in Olympiads and scientific conferences.
