On November 24, the innovation center “Smart Compliance: Law and Order”, a platform where modern digital technologies help combat corruption risks and make the university’s life more honest and transparent, was opened at КarIU in cooperation with the NGO “Zhanaru”.
The center will operate as an AI-based “smart warning system”, noticing situations in advance that could lead to violations.
Now the university will create user-friendly tools, training materials and rules that will help students and staff to act correctly and responsibly. The Center strengthens the values of honesty and law-abiding, as well as establishes cooperation between the university, society and the state.
—Today, anti—corruption work requires modern tools and new approaches,” said Samal Ibragimova, Project Manager, Acting Compliance Officer at КarIU. — The opening of a specialized laboratory is not just a technological solution, but a step towards building a culture of trust and integrity. We strive to ensure that honesty and transparency become the natural norm in the educational environment. AI will allow us to see risks where a person might not notice them, and take timely action.
As part of the opening ceremony of the center, a round table “Artificial Intelligence in compliance” was held, aimed at discussing the role of modern AI technologies in strengthening law and order. The speakers were Rector of the NAO KarIU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bakhyt Zhautikov, founder and honorary Chairman of the NGO “Zhanaru” Oralbai Abdykarimov, Chairman of the Council of the NGO “Zhanaru” Mels Semgaliev, Deputy Chairman of the NGO “Zhanaru” Beibit Mamraev, Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the Karaganda region Zhandos Sarsen.
— The launch of the Smart Compliance project shows that Karaganda Industrial University is ready to keep up with the times and introduce innovations in the most sensitive areas. Anti—corruption work based on AI increases responsibility, openness and trust in the educational system,” said Beibit Mamraev. — It is especially important that the project will be expanded to the regional level, which will create new standards of integrity not only at the university, but throughout society. I am confident that such initiatives will contribute to the education of honest and principled citizens who are in demand in the new digital economy.
The participants of the event were also presented with an AI-Compliance Bot digital assistant, which will suggest where risks may be hiding and help quickly resolve controversial issues. It is expected that the work of the Center will increase transparency, increase intolerance to corruption and become an example for other organizations in the region and the country.
