Department Of “Power Engineering”
The Department began its existence in 1972 as a section of “General electrical engineering” of the Department of “Physics” of the Vtuz Plant at the KMK. The head of the section was then acting associate Professor abdibaev M. A. two other teachers worked With him: Sadykbekov T. A. and Shmyrev V. I. under their leadership, the first laboratories of the Department were created.
In 1976, candidate of technical Sciences Kasylkasov Zh. M. formed the Department of “General electrical engineering and electrical equipment” and became its first head. Under him, the creation of two laboratories was completed: “Electric machines “and” Electric circuits”, and the creation of the laboratory”electric Drive” began.
In 1984, the head of the Department became Ph. D. Suprunenko V. V. Thanks to his efforts, in 1988 the Department became a graduate and was renamed the Department of “electric Drive and electrical engineering”.
In 1993, senior lecturer G. A. sivyakova came to the head of the Department. during her work, a unique laboratory of automated electric drive was created, which at that time had no analogues in the entire Republic.
In 1997, the Department opened a new specialty “automation of technological processes and production”. This is a credit to Zaw. in connection with the transition in 1998 to the position of Vice-rector for academic Affairs of Karmeti, Khamzin S. A. leaves the management of the Department and again this position is occupied by sivyakova G. A. in the same year, the Department is renamed the Department of “electric Drive and automation of technological processes”.
Since 1998, the Department has been training students with the qualification of an electrical engineer.
In 2008, the Department was renamed the Department of “electric power and automation of technical systems”.
In 2017, in connection with the transition to the position of Vice-rector for academic Affairs of KGIU, G. A. sivyakova leaves the management of the Department. From 2017 to 2019 duties of the head. the Department was performed by senior lecturer, PhD Yushchenko O. A. Since 2017, the Department is called “Power engineering, automation and computer engineering” and trains bachelors in four specialties 5B071800 “Electric power”, 5B070200 “Automation and control”, 5B070400″ Computer engineering and software”, 5B071700″Heat power Engineering”.
In 2019, the Department begins training specialists in new bachelor’s degree programs: 6B06101 – Software engineering, 6B07106 – Automation systems Engineering, 6B07105 – Electrical Supply of industrial facilities, 6B07104 – Heat Power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services, 6B07111 – Heat Power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services.
From 2019 to the present, the Department is managed by candidate of technical Sciences, associate Professor konakbayeva Assel Nigmetollayevna.
In 2020, the Department was renamed the Department of “energy” on the basis of two sections “electric power “and”heat power”. Now the Department trains bachelors in the following bachelor’s degree programs: 6B07105 – Electrical Supply of industrial facilities 6B07104 – Heat Power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services, 6B07111 – Heat Power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services.
Also in 2020, the first admission to the master’s degree program 7M07112 – Electric power engineering was made.
