PRESENTATION OF GRANTS OF JSC “ARCELORMITTAL TEMIRTAU”

May 19, a meeting of students and teachers with a group of managers of the company "ArcelorMittal Temirtau: (AMT) headed by the General director, University graduate Yablonsky V. I. At the meeting, 20 best students were awarded certificates of the company for free training. During the meeting, issues of further strengthening of partnership between the organizations were discussed.

The rector of KarIU Abdrasilov Bolatbek Serikbayevich spoke about the achievements of the university in the field of science and training of specialists in recent years. It should be noted that over the years of the university's existence, the majority of more than 27 thousand graduates have worked at AMT, now 70% of the company's engineering and technical staff and about 90% of the plant's management are graduates of Karaganda Industrial University. Unfortunately, in recent years, the long-term partnership between the university and the company has left much to be desired.

In accordance with the new Strategy of the University adopted in 2021, one of the main directions is the restoration and strengthening of partnerships with AMT. In 2021, at the initiative of the akim of the region, Kassymbek Zh.M., a Memorandum of cooperation was signed with this enterprise, which gave a new impetus to the development of partnership.

In his speech, General Director of the company V. I. Yablonsky noted that graduates of Karaganda Industrial University are well prepared for work, have high potential, they have great opportunities for career growth at the plant. He also stressed that the shortage of personnel is one of the urgent problems of the company and expressed interest in hiring university graduates to work in the company.

Also during the meeting, topical issues were discussed and ways to solve them were considered: the construction of a new student dormitory based on PPP, co-financing of research projects (PCF, commercialization), issues of effective use of funds of 1% of subsoil users for the development of our science, support in opening a branch of the MISIS University of Science and Technology, providing housing for graduates of the program "Serpin" and others.

They expressed their joint readiness to further deepen cooperation, which will make a worthy contribution to the innovative development of our country's industry.
