Today we held a round table on the topic: "Commercialization of the results of scientific and technical activities - a tool for integrating science and business." The main goal of the event is, within the framework of the implementation of the "Concept for the development of higher education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029", discussion of promising areas of cooperation between the university and industrial enterprises, conducting research in their interests, studying the needs of business in research and development (R&D). Also discuss with subsoil users effective mechanisms for using 1% of the funds allocated by subsoil users for the development of R&D. This is a very important topic, since the huge funds allocated by subsoil users were used inefficiently and for other purposes.
Due to the weak connection between science and industry, there are very few modern high-tech industries in the country. As the President of the country said, 65% of domestic enterprises belong to the third technological order - these are the raw materials sector and metallurgy. 34% - mechanical engineering and petrochemistry related to the fourth mode. Only 1% are microelectronics, robotics, which correspond to the fifth order. We do not have enterprises of the sixth order with an emphasis on nano- and biotechnologies.
At the same time, in developed countries, more than half of the enterprises belong to the fifth technological order and 5% to the sixth. Reducing this difference is an urgent task for our country. The President said that domestic science should act as the vanguard in the modernization of the national economy.
All these problems were discussed at this round table. The discussion showed that the representatives of the manufacturing sector are poorly informed about the challenges ahead, do not have information about innovations in the country's science, are poorly informed about the scientific research of our scientists, ongoing competitions for scientific developments. We, in turn, provided the participants of the round table with information about the scientific achievements of our teachers at the organized exhibition, about the prospects for the development of science in the country, gave full information about various scientific competitions held, mechanisms for the joint development of scientific projects for the innovative development of industries. Representatives of the companies gave their proposals for the development of cooperation in these areas, a decision was made to develop specific projects for industrial enterprises. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with the leaders of the Sensata group of companies.
The round table was attended by representatives of enterprises of the Karaganda region: ArcelorMittalTemirtau JSC, Sensata Group, Tau-Ken Temir LLP, TEMK JSC, Kaz-metiz LLP, Shubarkol Komir JSC, QazTehna LLP ”, Central Asia Cement JSC, Kurylysmet LLP, InterStroyAvangard LLP.
We are confident that this event will give a powerful impetus to the development of science in the interests of production.
