EKTU RnD Forum 2024 «Science and Industry: Challenges, solutions and strategies»

 

On April 5-6, 2024, the EKTU RnD Forum 2024 «Science and Industry: Challenges, Solutions and Strategies» was held at the D.Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU).  The forum was attended by B.B.Makhmutov, a vice-rector for scientific work and International Relations, V.A. Kunaev, Director of the Department of Science, Innovation and International Cooperation, and N.M.Abdukadyrov, Head of the Technology Commercialization Office, from our university.

 

Our time, the era of industry 4.0, is characterized by the widespread introduction of digitalization in all spheres of human activity, high-precision knowledge-intensive technologies, the emergence and rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI). All this generates a number of important challenges to science in general and the management of these processes, requires the development of scientifically sound solutions, implementation strategies and development paths. The forum discussed and analyzed existing problems and proposed ways to solve them, the introduction of digital and the development of innovative technologies, the creation of sustainable strategies for the interaction of science and industry, the introduction of innovative technologies in the economy, etc. It was stressed that the lag in the use of innovative technologies in this direction will lead to the loss of opportunities for economic growth and competitiveness.

The forum was held in an offline and online format, attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Akimat of East Kazakhstan region, JSC GC “ALLUR”, RSE at the PCV “Digital Government Support Center”, CEO of Tianjin UMS Smart Technology (China), representatives of universities and enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the plenary and foresight sessions, ways of solving, developing organizational and managerial decisions related to barriers to the interaction of science and production were discussed. There were 4 foresight sections at the forum: “Development of clusters in the automotive industry to increase competitiveness in the global market”, “Automation and robotics technologies for mechanical engineering”, “AI and automation for MMC”, “Sustainable development of MMC: new technologies for efficient use of resources”.
