The Department of Power Engineering provides training in the following educational programs.

Bachelor course:

6В07105 - Energy supply of industrial facilities

6В07104 - Heat power engeneering of industrial companies and objects of housing and communal services

Magistracy:

7M07112 «Electric Power industry»

The individuality and uniqueness of the Bachelor's degree programs 6B07105 "Energy supply of industrial facilities" and 6B07104/6B07111 "Thermal power engineering of industrial enterprises and housing and communal services" lies in the fact that they accumulate all relevant and promising professional competencies necessary for the implementation of job functions in the future, in their orientation to the labor market of the Karaganda region, the presence of elective courses that complement the main disciplines commissioned by employers in the region.

The individuality of the plans for the development of educational programs is due to close interaction with employers, taking into account the specifics of the region. The EP also implements the possibility for students to build individual educational trajectories by choosing disciplines taking into account personal preferences and the needs of the labor market in the region.

The uniqueness of the EP lies in the fact that the training of specialists is conducted at the request of a specific enterprise (JSC “ArcelorMittal Temirtau”), but at the same time graduates are in demand not only in the Karaganda region, but also far beyond its borders. For example, graduates are employed at such enterprises as: “Altyn Alma” LLP, “Zhayrem GOK” LLP, “Kentau Transformer Plant” JSC, “Tekeli Mining and Processing Complex” LLP, “YuzhKazEnergoremont Co. LTD” LLP, “AstanaEnergoSbyt” LLP, “Aksai Energomontazh” LLP, “Kazakhmys Corporation” LLP and others.

The uniqueness and advantages of the educational program 7M07112 «Electric Power Industry» (EE) in comparison with similar educational programs in the region and the republic are:

1) in the training of a universal specialist who can work in the field of automation of energy systems (in modern production, intersectoral boundaries are being erased; the introduction of digitalization and automation, thoughtful solutions and the competent use of new technologies can help the electric power industry reach a qualitatively new level). The EP provides for the formation of graduates of both key professional competencies and additional competencies in the field of automation and electric power engineering (the modular educational program contains such disciplines as "Intelligent control systems in the electric power industry", "Modern software environments", "Optimization of energy consumption modes", "Fuzzy systems and neural networks", "Automated systems control and accounting of energy resources" ( https://epvo.kz/#/register/education_program/application/48862 );

2) in combining the trajectories of research and practice-oriented orientation and the student's choice of the necessary trajectory and relevant disciplines (for example, "Theory of inventive problem solving", "Critical thinking and argumentation in scientific research") based on his interests or the requirements of a future employer. This is realized due to the presence of "elective disciplines" in the EP.

3) the possibility for students to acquire additional IT competencies at the Cisco Regional Network Academy center based on KarIU (insert a link to the certificate);

4) in close cooperation with employers (JSC "Qarmet", LLP "KAZPROM AVTOMATIKA", etc.) and the presence of an existing branch of the department in the field of automation on the basis of the enterprise "KAZPROM AVTOMATIKA" LLP. For conducting special courses (for example, "Industrial Programming languages"), practical teachers from these enterprises are involved;

5) to regularly involve leading professors from foreign universities for undergraduates in conducting guest lectures, trainings, master classes, seminars ( https://old.tttu.edu.kz/2022/11/professor-iz-universiteta-gazi-turciya-aydin-chetin-provel-cikl-obuchayushhix-seminarov-dlya-molodix-uchenix-magistrantov-i-doktorantov-kariu-professor-from-gazi-university-turkey-aydin-chetin/ );

6) there is a modern educational and methodological base with students' access to information and analytical resources of the world scientific community (including extended access to Scopus and Web of Science databases).
