On September 1, 1963, the VTUZ Plant was organized at the Karaganda metallurgical plant. By order No. 2 of 01.11.63, the Department of Chemical technology was organized at the Temirtau Vtuz Plant. In 1965, the Department was divided into the following departments •
- «Physical and analytical chemistry»;
- «General chemistry»;
- «Technology of chemical production».
In 1996, after joining the Department of mineral Processing, the chemical departments were merged. Created the Department «HHT and OPIE», the head of which is Professor, Ph. D. muzichuk, V. D. 1998 the United the Department is headed by associate Professor, Ph. D. Arbuzov, V. A. and Department renamed the Department of «Chemical technology”.
In 2007, the Department was joined by the section “Ecology”, as a result of which the Department was named”Chemical technology and ecology”. And the Department trains highly qualified specialists in the following specialties: 5B072100 – “Chemical technology of organic substances” and 5B0731100 – “life Safety and environmental protection».
Since September 2018, head of the Department «Chemical technology and ecology» — associate Professor, PhD Kabieva Saule Kazzhanovna.
In 2019, the educational program «pharmaceutical production Technology» was opened, which attracted graduates of schools and colleges of the corresponding profile.
Currently, the Department trains highly qualified specialists for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the following educational programs:
6B07102-Chemical technology of organic substances;
6B07204-pharmaceutical production Technology;
6B11201-Industrial ecology and fire safety.
In 2020, the educational program «mineral processing» was opened.
