General Education Disciplines Department was established in 2021 by combining the of Natural Science and Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages departments.

Kazakh,  Russian and foreign languages section

1963 – Foreign Languages Department was established ( head department Dyadyukova I.I.)

1991 – the department was divided into the departments of Kazakh and Russian  languages (head department Aitbayeva M.Zh.) and Foreign languages (head department Cheremnykh L.S.)

From 1969 to 1976, the department was headed by Zalessky I.I., Mukanova T. N., Stanovich O.N., Sadykov M.S.

1996 –joined  into the Kazakh, Russian and Foreign languages Department (head  department  associate professor Baibusanova Z.E.)

2001-2011 - the department was headed by Baimbetova M.K.

2011 – the department became  the part of  “History of Kazakhstan and general education disciplines” Department (head department  Associate professor Gumenchuk O.N., 2014-2017 – M.P.S., Khamitov S.B.)

2017 – the department  was established  as "Kazakh, Russian and Foreign languages Department" (head department Associate professor Abdikarim N.A.)

"Physics and Mathematics" section

1963 –"Higher Mathematics and Physics  Department" was established (head  department Berestenko V.M.)

1967 – the department was divided into the  Physics and Electrical Engineering department (Head  department  Associate professor Popandopulo I.L.) and Higher Mathematics and Theoretical Mechanics Department (Head department  Associate professor Burykin A.A., in 1968 -  Associate professor Hofmeister V.P.)

1971-1974 – Higher Mathematics and Theoretical Mechanics Department was renamed  to the Higher Mathematics Department (head department Shpakova V.E.)

1974 -1977 -  Higher Mathematics Department was headed by  Associate professors as Ilyasov Sh.I. Smagulov B.T., Ph.D., Associate professor Nurgozhin B.I.,  Associate professor Zhanabekov Zh. Associate professor Burdo A.I.,  Associate professor Kukalo L.I.

1976 – Physics and Electrical Engineering Department is divided into the Physics and Electrical Engineering departments.  Until 1980,  Physics department was headed by Associate professor Hofmeister V.P.

1999 - Physics and Higher Mathematics departments  were joined  into Physics and Higher Mathematics Departments (head  department Associate professor Mukhambetov D.G.)

From 1980 to 2001 Physics and Higher Mathematics Department  (Physics and Mathematics) was headed by Associate professor Mukhambetov D.G., Ph.D., Associate professor Timokhin V.M., MingaleevaA.M.

2011 - Physics and Mathematics Department  was renamed  to the General education disciplines Department , then  to  “Information Technologies and natural Science disciplines Department”  (head department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yavorsky V.V.)

2013 - the department was renamed "Natural Science disciplines" (head department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yavorsky V.V., in 2018 – Associate Professor Huanbai E.H.)

2019 – the department was renamed to  the  General Education disciplines Department

2021 – "Kazakh, Russian and foreign languages" and "General education disciplines"  departments were joined  into the "General Education disciplines" department  (head department  Associate professor Makhmutov B.B., in 2022 – Myrzakhanova A.T., in 2023 – Master of Arts, Kapasheva Zh.K.).

In 2023-2024 academic year, the department employs 4 candidates of Sciences, 1 PhD, 9 Masters of Sciences and 8 senior teachers.

The department has 4 educational laboratories, 2 specialized classrooms, 3 computer classes, 10 classrooms.

Russian Russian, Professional Russian, English, Professional English, Mathematics, Higher Mathematics, Mathematics in Economics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Econometrics, Methods of statistical modeling, Physics, Construction Physics are taught at the department in the following disciplines: Kazakh tili, Kasibi Kazakh tili, Russian, Professional Russian, English, Professional English, Mathematics, Higher Mathematics, Mathematics in Economics, Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, Econometrics, Methods of statistical modeling, Physics, Construction Physics, Applied  mechanics, Theoretical mechanics, Strength of materials. Disciplines are studied in the 1-2 year.

The mission of the department is the formation of general engineering competence, skills necessary for the subsequent study of disciplines of the vocational cycle, as well as the development of language competence in professional communication.

The strategic goal of the department is the development of the department as an established research and teaching school in the field of natural science and linguistic education.
