CARIU DELEGATION VISITED PORTSMOUTH UNIVERSITY
From January 9 to 13, 2023, within the framework of the British Council’s Going Global Partnerships Program, the delegation of Karaganda Industrial University visited the University of Portsmouth (Great Britain) to develop mutually beneficial cooperation, conduct joint research, develop strategies and cooperation projects.
The British Council’s Going Global Partnerships program is a joint effort at the international level aimed at ensuring that higher education, technical and vocational education meet the needs of our society, economy and students. Karaganda Industrial University was among the 10 universities of Kazakhstan that won the competition, along with such universities of Kazakhstan as Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N. Gumilev ENU, KBTU, Satbayev University, etc.

During the visit of the CarIU delegation, meetings were held with university professors Jovana Radulovic, Hom Dhakal, Soran Birosca, David Sanders, Deputy Dean Raymond Lee. The issues of academic mobility and internships of students, undergraduates and doctoral students, as well as joint research and projects, project financing were discussed. There was also a tour of the university, showing the latest laboratories and hubs of the university. During the negotiations, the directions of further cooperation with the University of Portsmouth were determined:
- Scientific internships of undergraduates and doctoral students;
- Participation in the CarIU International Conference;
- Invitation of university professors to CarIU under the program of attracting foreign scientists;
- Joint participation in foreign programs;
- Joint research and publication of articles.
