The regional stage of the Republican National Debate Tournament among students of grades 9-11 of general education organizations was held at Karaganda Industrial University. The tournament was held on the basis of the American parliamentary format.
The organizers of this event were the regional scientific and practical center for additional education of children “Saryarka Daryny” of the Department of Education of the Karaganda region. The development and promotion of the school discussion movement among students is the main goal of the tournament. With the help of such measures, it is important to expand the general cultural horizons of students, to increase the level of academic knowledge among students, to form students’ oratory skills and skills of positive, critical thinking, system analysis through analysis and public discussion of current problems arising in society. 108 students took part in the National Debate Tournament in the region. And the debate masters came from all over the region. The participants competed in the Kazakh, Russian and English leagues. Alexey Lomakin, head of the debate movement of Temirtau, Askhat Kaketayev, Deputy Head of the Saryarka Daryn Center, and Bolatbek Abdrasilov, Rector of our university, delivered congratulatory words.
