Additional education courses “Chemical Analysis Laboratory Assistant” were held at the department. After completing the course, the students were awarded the microqualification “Chemical Analysis Laboratory Assistant”.

The teaching staff of the department developed a massive open online course based on the national platforms Bilim Land on the National Platform of Open Education of Kazakhstan “Ashyk University”. (https://bilimland.kz/kk/plans/6298)

The personnel potential of the department is actively developing every year, the degree of the department is 55%. Within the framework of the PhD educational program, 2 people successfully defended themselves, and 3 doctoral students are planned to defend themselves. In the educational programs “8D07101 - Chemical technology of organic substances”, 7M07102 “Chemical technology of organic substances” and 7M11201 - “Industrial and environmental safety” there is an annual increase in the number of incoming doctoral and master’s students.

Within the framework of internal and external academic mobility, undergraduates and students of the Department of Chemical Technology and Ecology have studied at various universities.

As part of the external academic mobility, students of the TFP-20k group Zhimakhan Asel, Mukhametkali Shyngys studied at Gazi University (Turkey, Ankara) in the following disciplines: Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Poisons and toxins of plant and animal origin, Pharmaceutical technology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Students of the TFP-21k group Shami Aruzhan and the TFP-21 group Makieva Arina studied for a whole semester at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Bulgaria, Sofia) in such disciplines as biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, toxicological chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry.

As part of the internal academic mobility, students of the educational program "Pharmaceutical Production Technology" take a course in the discipline of Microbiology at the Medical University of Karaganda.

Also, within the framework of internal mobility, undergraduates of the educational program "Chemical Technology of organic substances" study at the Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov.

School students interested in research activities can join a scientific circle that is organized on the basis of the Department of Chemical Technology and Ecology. They get the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced teachers who will help them develop their scientific skills and show them how to conduct scientific research.

The science club gives participants the opportunity to work on projects, conduct experiments, analyze data and draw conclusions.

A student of the scientific club, together with teachers from the department, were engaged in a project to create a biodegradable packaging film based on agar-agar, which has antimicrobial activity. Their research showed the potential of such films for use in various fields.

Also, students of the scientific circle conducted research on the topic “Study of antioxidant properties in citrus plants” under the guidance of teachers and became winners in a school project competition.
